Handguns and rifles (up to the 100 yards) are $10.00 ( includes 1 target )

$13.50 for 200 yards ( with access to the 100 yards includes 2 targets )

$17.50 for 300 yards (with access to the 100 and 200 yards includes 3 targets )

Skeet Range $15.50

All prices are per gun or per person, which ever is greater.

We do accept credit cards (no American Express). No checks accepted.

Concealed Handgun License

To obtain a permit to carry concealed handguns in the state of Texas requires a 10 hour Texas CHL course which trains on, gun and child safety, and Texas laws regarding use of force and licensing requirements.

We are your one stop shop for yor CHL license. You leave our class with everything you need to apply for the license, except for the fee to the state which is $140 for new applicants, and $70 for renewals.

Our class is given by a state certified instructor.

CHL Class is $125. CHL Renewal Classes are $100. That includes photos, finger printing, and notary

CHL classes are every Saturday at 8:00am, walk-ins welcome. Class ends at 12:00pm for renewals, and 6:00pm for new applicants. Show up with a valid TDL/ID, your weapon, and ammo (you can purchase ammo here). Renewals need 50 rounds, new applicants need 100-150 rounds.

We also offer private classes Sunday -Friday. (Call or e-mail amber@thundergunrange.com for more information.

We will order any handgun for our CHL students at dealers cost, plus a $25 transfer fee.

THE INSTRUCTOR: Donna Vandermolen - Women's class

I am an ex-police officer with a BA in Criminal Justice. I am a member of the National Rifle Association (NRA), of Second Amendment Sisters, and of the International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA). I am a certified NRA “Pistol” and “Personal Defense in the Home” instructor. I am a certified NRA and IDPA Safety Officer. I am an IDPA Five Gun Expert and 3 time TX and LA State woman’s IDPA champion. I have graduated from Langdon Tactical Training and am a multiple graduate of Thunder Ranch. I am a Second Amendment advocate and a CHL (Concealed Handgun License) holder. I have founded two other Houston area women’s pistol programs. It is my personal goal to empower as many women as possible through the use of the handgun as personal protection.

THE INSTRUCTOR: STEVE VANDERMOLEN - Men's class

Steve Vandermolen has over 30 years of shooting experience. He is a certified NRA pistol instructor, personal protection trainer and range safety officer. Steve is a master level competitive shooter who has won numerous local, regional, state, and national championships. He is a co-founder of Thunder Tactical Shooters and remains active in the organization. He brings a unique combination of skills and competencies to this interesting and fast-paced class.
